Michael O’Hare, The Man Behind The Curtain

Michael O’Hare is chef-patron at The Man Behind The Curtain in Leeds, which was awarded a Michelin star in October 2015.

O’Hare began cooking whilst at university before becoming a professional chef, gaining experience at John Burton-Race at The Landmark, Seaham Hall and Noma before becoming head chef at The Blind Swine in York.

Adamant not to be labelled a typical chef, his eccentric personality and arts background are clearly reflected in his theatrical and off-the-wall menu style.

Josh Eggleton, The Pony & Trap

For three consecutive years Josh brought his passion for South West food to the masses with his appearances on the BBC’s Great British Menu, firmly placing himself in the public eye as one the country’s finest chefs.

A testament to great food and a welcoming atmosphere, The Pony & Trap has held a Michelin Star since 2011 and was ranked 2nd in the Estrella Damm Top 50 UK Gastropubs in 2018. The pub champions a “field to fork” ethos serving food sourced as locally as possible from suppliers around the Chew Valley and South West.

Josh is also founder of Salt & Malt in both Chew Valley and Bristol, founder of Root in Bristol and co-owner of the city’s popular gastropub, The Kensington Arms.
